FAQ

Our Commitment to the Environment

“nURTURE YOU, NATURE TO AND CONNECT TO YOUR TRUE NATURE” ‘Yoga means union, it is an art and science of livinG’.

We believe that for true self care to take place this involves care and connection to the natural environment around us. There is a connection between healthy emotional well-being and how we treat and connect with the natural environment; so one takes care of the other and the other takes care of the other. In helping people see this link, not just on the yoga mat or walks in nature, how through Holistic Lifestyle dots can be joined. This includes increasing connection to the natural environment through inner holistic practices such as yoga, and meditation in the home, helping to integrate nature into the home through new routines linked to natural products ultimately changing behaviour and purchasing patterns. In turn our aim is to reduce plastic consumption use and reduce the use of chemicals, promoting biodegradable alternatives and handmade local alternatives, returning people to quality local shopping and consequently a cleaner local environment.

Our Honest and Realistic Practices:

  • Our shop is plastic free, selling plastic free products and natural fibres.

  • Our own product range is developed working with local suppliers who love and are connected to the natural environment, using organic or naturally farmed ingredients where possible.

  • Biodegradable packaging only is used from trusted suppliers in our pop-up cafe or our washable cups.

  • We use organic veg where possible for our events from Single Step, Growing with Grace and The Plot! Following this we support local independent shops and finally super markets for anything else, and finally online for unique special things we need.

  • Alexandra Road is our local recycling point for aluminium, card, plastics and the Cooperative is very good for recycling any scrunch plastic. Where possible we always choose glass and paper, over plastic.

  • Any plastics in our Shop & Sea Studio that are used for decorations/lighting/sound systems are second hand or bought locally in Morecambe/Lancashire to support the local economy and are last resort purchases, as usually the alternatives do not exist or the price limit exceeds our budget. It would be our 10 year dream to completely illuminate these types of plastics as much as possible.

  • When we run our sober day and night festival ‘The After Glow’ we have strict criteria stall holders must adhere to and we search for the most eco-friendly suppliers including sound systems.

    Equality & Diversity

“Our Ability to reach unity in diversity will the beauty and test of our civilisation” Mahatma Gandhi.

  • Our organisation is fully inclusive.

  • In our workplace we promote equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • We treat everyone fairly and with dignity and respect. We would challenge any discrimination and remove any barriers.

  • We recognise the benefits of different values, abilities, and perspectives.

  • Our events and services offer sober spaces and aim to provide a space for minority groups who do not have access to public spaces to socialise in, specifically in the evenings with our Glow festivals, perhaps due to past addictions that restrict desire or ability to go into pubs/clubs/restaurants. We also offer women only spaces and our aim for 2024 is to also offer a male only space.

  • Some of our practices/services are associated with religious activities, we are inclusive of all and no religion.

Q. what is our cancellation policy?

A. Yoga - Unfortunately we do not offer refunds for classes once booked. For this purpose we have created our membership Sea Shoalas offering of our sea yogis whatsapp group access whereby if you can’t make a class you can offer your classes to other members for free and pick up free classes in return. More info on our memberships faqs below.

B. Massage - If you have paid a deposit of £27.50 for a Massage/treatment, this is a non-refundable deposit, however if we have 1 week notice or more, we are happy to reschedule the booking as long as it is within one month time from the original booking. If it’s less the 1 weeks notice, you will loose your booking, if you want to book in again, you can however book in with 10% off, as a thank you for trying again, when life has thrown you a challenge, this is at your discretion if you would like to take us up on the discount depending on your unique circumstances as to why you couldn’t keep your original booking. If you paid in full and require a refund of the rest of the booking please get in touch seastudiomorecambe@gmail.com. Please allow 7 days for money to be returned due to our payment systems and our admin days.

- If you are a monthly moon massage member, it is acknowledged that you will make sure you find time for your session in the month, or if not pass the massage to a family member or friend, the offer must be used within one month. More info below.

C - Sea Studio Sessions - for any sessions that are paid or booked directly with therapists/session holders other than a) through innersense.com website b) booked in the shop with chelsey or the shop volunteers, for the session/treatment ie. The monthly Sound Bath, The reiki shares event, the refund policy is at the discretion of the session leader/workshop holder and their business refund policies.

D - If we have to cancel a session is the only reason we usually give a refund, however we are here if you need to contact us seastudiomorecambe@gmail.com.

We ask that you allow us 7days minimum for any disputes to be resolved and moneys returned.

Q. WHat to wear to a yoga class or when coming for a massage?

A. The most common option is leggings/joggers/shorts/hareems and a top, with sports bra, or fitness top, shorts and a t-shirt is a good option too. For both massage and yoga, you want to be comfortable, able to move and stretch. For massage, be aware that your clothes may get a little oily with any massage oils left on your skin after your massage, the oils are great for you skin & hair just not for your clothes! If you need to get changed at the shop the toilet is a good size so you can get changed in there.

More details of our FAQs for our memberships and cancellations policy:

1. Yoga - We understand that life can be unpredictable! Once you’ve booked a yoga session, we’re unable to move it to another date. However, if you can’t attend, feel free to send someone else along in your place if you would like to send a friend or family member please drop me Chelsey a whatsapp on 07421462023 to let me know the name of the attendee taking your place.

2. For our new customers first yoga session - Extenuating Circumstance, we’re happy to offer one date change for your *first class booked, if you happen to miss it and there is space available in the classes. We know starting something new can sometimes be tricky and we want to give you the best shot at trying our yoga sessions.

3. Yoga - Sea Shoalas Membership Whatsapp: You have the option to get entered into the Sea Yogis Whatsapp group where you can swap classes with other members, or offer them up for free and hope to pick up extra free classes. This has started to work well on a trial over summer. Dates for all 3 months have to be chosen on the form - received by emailing us at seastudiomorecambe@gmail.com. If you need to change any dates, you can do so by emailing seastudiomorecambe@gmail.com before the 1st of the month (9th this month october) for date changes within that month, should there be the spaces in the classes for me to do so I will try to accommodate where possible.

4. Yoga - Zoom: New this month as a trial, I have introduced the option for you to attend online via zoom if you can't make it into the studio as well as have other people attending the class on zoom. Looking forward to growing the community and hope this leads to more classes, socials, and workshops being available to offer in Morecambe. I know being close to the seaside in previous years we've had quite a few storms, like the one forecast this weekend. I want to make sure the classes can still go ahead if we can't get into the studio or it's too dangerous to get in snow/wind etc. This zoom option I hope will also make it easier for all of us to take extra time for ourselves if we do get ill or rundown and keep up all safe, and allow us to flow with natures and our cycles of rejuvernation and growth.

5. If I Chelsey can't teach a class I will deduct the money off your next months payment, or give you a refund for the session at the rate booked at the time, or supply a cover teacher if possible.

6. Extenuating circumstances -  Something tragic has happened or your health won't allow you to attend the class unfortunately we still don’t offer a refund. Having said this, I would like to see how these options might work as a compromise seen as how InnerSense is here to assist you with tools for lifes' challenges, for Sea Shoaler members only:

A: I can transfer your classes from one month to the next or any within the membership length you have booked ie. usually 3 months max membership, however the next month is still payable/has to be paid membership, again this would have to be done by beginning of first week of classes 1st of the month. i.e. you can't make all 4 sessions once month and then would have 8 classes next month, 4 paid for last month and 4 paid for this month. This can not be transferred directly to any classes run from January 2026 and will be at my discretion at that time to decide if this could be passed over to the Winter Classes Membership.

B: Alternatively should you want to book a massage or reiki session for some self-care me time I am happy to do this at the reduced rate of £35 for 60minutes with consultation, time for tarot and herbal tea have in or take away. - *Please email seastudiomorecambe@gmail.com should you feel that these circumstances should apply to you. This is also our monthly moon massage offer rate.

7. We are an eco-friendly venue and business, where possible and the majority of the time we use natural alternatives for our cleaning products that are safe for you and for the environment. We choose natural bio-degrable products including incense, candles, oils and sprays. We use cotton sheets and blankets, and cushions. Everything from toilet roll is considered and we recycle any plastic that the eco friendly products unfortunately come packaged in sometimes such as scrunch plastic. Our Kangen Water Machine is used for cleaning of the shop as well as for offering you ultimate hydration for your yoga practice. If you would like to refill your water bottle at the beginning or end of the class please bring £1 with you for our jar in the shop reception and we will refill it for you. You can choose PH9.5 Alkaline Water or PH7 Neutral Filtered Water. Our aim is to reduce the consumption of plastic bottles, keeping our seas and landfills cleaner, as well as keeping our bodies cleaner from microplastics, chemicals and toxins. If you are interested in our water and would like more info on our refills please email chelsey@yourinnersense.com.

8. Monthly Moon Massage Member - Massage must be booked within same month as payment received, if for some reason you can't make your appointment let us know as soon as possible and we will reschedule for sometime within the same month. We can change the date 2 times if you can't make the 2nd one please send someone else to enjoy the massage, treat your friend or your family member.

9. Your Health: If you are ill and showing symptoms or have had jabs/vaccines please take 1-2 weeks as a guide for yourself at home. This goes for myself as well and having the zoom option should make this easier if I get ill yet can still lead the class. If you have a new injury please inform us before you arrive at the class if possible. 07421462023. Equally please use the zoom option to stay at home to nurture yourself and minimise the spread of germs where possible/enjoy your repair process, so our nervous systems can grow stronger.
