FAQ

Our Commitment to the Environment

“nURTURE YOU, NATURE TO AND CONNECT TO YOUR TRUE NATURE” ‘Yoga means union, it is an art and science of livinG’.

We believe that for true self care to take place this involves care and connection to the natural environment around us. There is a connection between healthy emotional well-being and how we treat and connect with the natural environment; so one takes care of the other and the other takes care of the other. In helping people see this link, not just on the yoga mat or walks in nature, how through Holistic Lifestyle dots can be joined. This includes increasing connection to the natural environment through inner holistic practices such as yoga, and meditation in the home, helping to integrate nature into the home through new routines linked to natural products ultimately changing behaviour and purchasing patterns. In turn our aim is to reduce plastic consumption use and reduce the use of chemicals, promoting biodegradable alternatives and handmade local alternatives, returning people to quality local shopping and consequently a cleaner local environment.

Our Honest and Realistic Practices:

  • Our shop is plastic free, selling plastic free products and natural fibres.

  • Our own product range is developed working with local suppliers who love and are connected to the natural environment, using organic or naturally farmed ingredients where possible.

  • Biodegradable packaging only is used from trusted suppliers in our pop-up cafe or our washable cups.

  • We use organic veg where possible for our events from Single Step, Growing with Grace and The Plot! Following this we support local independent shops and finally super markets for anything else, and finally online for unique special things we need.

  • Alexandra Road is our local recycling point for aluminium, card, plastics and the Cooperative is very good for recycling any scrunch plastic. Where possible we always choose glass and paper, over plastic.

  • Any plastics in our Shop & Sea Studio that are used for decorations/lighting/sound systems are second hand or bought locally in Morecambe/Lancashire to support the local economy and are last resort purchases, as usually the alternatives do not exist or the price limit exceeds our budget. It would be our 10 year dream to completely illuminate these types of plastics as much as possible.

  • When we run our sober day and night festival ‘The After Glow’ we have strict criteria stall holders must adhere to and we search for the most eco-friendly suppliers including sound systems.

    Equality & Diversity

“Our Ability to reach unity in diversity will the beauty and test of our civilisation” Mahatma Gandhi.

  • Our organisation is fully inclusive.

  • In our workplace we promote equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • We treat everyone fairly and with dignity and respect. We would challenge any discrimination and remove any barriers.

  • We recognise the benefits of different values, abilities, and perspectives.

  • Our events and services offer sober spaces and aim to provide a space for minority groups who do not have access to public spaces to socialise in, specifically in the evenings with our Glow festivals, perhaps due to past addictions that restrict desire or ability to go into pubs/clubs/restaurants. We also offer women only spaces and our aim for 2024 is to also offer a male only space.

  • Some of our practices/services are associated with religious activities, we are inclusive of all and no religion.

Q. WHat to wear to a yoga class or when coming for a massage?

A. The most common option is leggings and a top, with sports bra, or fitness top, shorts and a t-shirt is a good option too. For both massage and yoga, you want to be comfortable, able to move and stretch. For massage, be aware that your clothes may get a little oily with any massage oils left on your skin after your massage, the oils are great for you skin & hair just not for your clothes!
